In class the other day, we focused on establishing big shapes/silhouettes with light colored markers and followed up by adding detail with our black pens. I really liked this technique -- I found it particularly helpful with getting more accurate horse shapes, which I usually have a hard time with. We also employed the same technique while watching clips from Disney's Robin Hood and The Rescuers.
