We got to go to the zoo again this week! This time, we stayed in the "Asia Quest" section of the Columbus zoo. The rhinos and the elephants were particularly fun to draw because they have great shapes and such a solid feeling of mass. It was quite challenging to try to convey that sense of weight and volume in quick gestures (particularly with the elephants for some reason -- they have surprisingly strange proportions when you actually look at them). I do think I managed to get one or two of each one that gets the idea across well though.
